Recently I feel like identifying myself as a vegan sympathizer.
“What does it mean?! You’ll say… “Are you vegan?. No, I’m not, I’m just trying to eat less animal proteins in favour of alternative ones. For that reason, when I cook I like to mix classic recipes with vegan recipe which call for legumes (beans, peas, chickpeas…) tofu or seitan. From today, basically because I´m very curious, I decided to start exploring the world of veganism…in baking! I’m sure these recipes will have nothing to envy the more traditional ones ^_^
So, once in a while, I´ll write a recipe that is perfect for those who can’t eat eggs or dairy, vegans (obviously), who are as curious as me to try new tastes or those who have vegan friends or relatives to satisfy. Starting from now, my friends, you will never panic, thinking “Oh my God, which kind of sweet can I make withouteggs and butter?!”
In my family, the vegan (I mean 100% vegan, not a sympathizer like me) is my cousin Andrea. She has been a vegan for a while now… she has always loved animals.. there are so many animals in her house that I’ve never understood exactly how many they are… anyway (I always say this but she denies it categorically) there is a favourite, the prince of the house: a handsome black doggie named Kirk. He has had so many photos taken of him that soon he will be able to take selfies! I dedicate this recipe and the official start of my “Veg Section” to you dear cousin… maybe also to say sorry for that time, when you were a kid and, in the living room, I forced you to dance ridiculous Latin songs that I only enjoyed with me.
For that, my dear Andrea, this recipe is for you. Are you ready to bake some Halloween Ghost Cupcakes? They are incrediblyeasy to make and even more soft and fluffy. They come with a vegan butter cream on top. To be honest I’m not a massive supporter of butter cream so I don’t think I’m going to make other recipes with it, but in this case I used it because it is perfect for the decoration and because I wanted to introduce a traditional recipe converted to vegan.
Now, enjoy your cupcakes! Yeah! ^_^
Talking about ghosts and monsters I remembered the movie “Young Frankenstein”. If you’ve seen it I’m sure you’re smiling right now. I was thinking about the dance scene, at the end, where the doc and the monster sing and dance “Puttin’ On The Ritz”, it’s so funny! I suggest that you watch it! And if you know it… I’m sure you’re already on Youtube looking for it! ?
