One of my favorite things about cakes is how creative you can be and that “wow” factor that they can trigger. A mix of beauty and originality that slaps a big smile on any face straight away.
Some cakes challenge the laws of gravity, for others it looks as if an engineer or an architect planned them for months (think about some cake design creations) and then there are the comfort cakes, like this crostata.
In Italy it’s one of the most popular homemade cakes, that reminds you of your family, afternoons at home and childhood memories.
This is why I decided to share this recipe today, but in a new version: egg and butter free, thinking about those people that don’t eat eggs or dairy products for either health or ethical reasons.
I strongly recommend that you try it, even if you’re simply looking for a lighter pastry (you can make also biscuits with it):it will amaze you with its taste.
See you soon
